The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has formally opened the 2025 application process.
Applications are now open and can shut on 15 December 2024.
*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding
To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant should meet the following requirements:
• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who arises from a house that has a combined gross family earnings that doesn't exceed R350 000 per annum.
• Persons with disabilities qualify if their combined house income won't exceed R600 000 per annum.
• SASSA recipients instantly qualify for funding and want not post any evidence of earnings.
*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle
The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open up to all South African citizens and permanent residents from households with combined R350 000 and R600 000 per annum.
Applicants are reminded to my nsfas supply the correct Identity Document numbers, names, and surname, as reflected in their South African ID.
NSFAS only funds people who are studying or plan to research in a public university or TVET college in South Africa.
All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.
Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid 2025 nsfas application delays in the processing of their application.
